Purpose The Single Family Owner Occupied Rehabilitation Program is designed to help low income homeowners rehabilitate their homes. Goal The goal of the Single Family Owner Occupied Rehabilitation Program is to provide necessary repairs on single-family homeowner-occupied homes to eliminate the hazards in the home, and generate a home that will meet or exceed the codes and standards, thus prolonging the usefulness of the home. Program Design The Single Family Owner Occupied Rehabilitation Program operates in conjunction with the Home Weatherization Assistance Program. This partnership provides a comprehensive approach, which allows each component to generate greater impact on the home. C.E.F.S. Economic Opportunity Corporation Housing serves as the sponsor and developer who initiate’s a five or ten year no interest, no payment, forgivable loan (Recapture Agreement) to eligible homeowners. An inspection of the home is performed, determining the Rehabilitation Measures required, eliminating the hazards in the home.
