Senior Grant Accountant
Location/s: Effingham
Description: The Senior Grant Accountant plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial operations, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations. This position primarily focuses on the fiscal management aspects of the Agency related to Federal, State, or privately funded grants and must be familiar with all Federal and State guidelines, such as the Federal 2 CFR Part 200 and the Illinois Grant Accountability and Transparency Act (GATA).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Complete grant reports which may be monthly, quarterly, annually, as required by the funder, and ensure compliance with all grant requirements.

Participate in discussions regarding the fiscal status of each grant with agency Administrative and Programmatic Staff, including monitoring budgetary performance against actual results.

Monthly revenue recognition for all grant activities and timely posting to the system.

Prepare journal entries, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions including maintaining relevant supporting documentation for all entries and reports.

Reconcile bank statements and other financial documents to maintain the accuracy and completeness of records.

Assist in the preparation of grant budgets as well as the annual agency-wide budget. Perform financial analysis and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.

Assist with the annual fiscal audit and aid auditors, as needed. Assist on all fiscal monitoring reviews conducted by Federal and/or State funding entities.

Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.

Other duties or tasks as requested.
Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree from an Accredited Institution in Accounting (preferred),
Finance, or Business Management. A minimum of three years experience in a relevant accounting position working as a full-cycle accountant is also required. (Preferred: minimum of three years working with fiscal grant reporting in a non-profit environment.) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is required. The successful candidate will be highly productive, accountable, dependable, and able to work as part of a team. The position is Monday through Friday 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Some travel will be required to attend training sessions related to Federal and Illinois-funded programs.

C.E.F.S. Senior Services Program is hiring for the following position:
Meals on Wheels Site Supervisor
Location/s: Clay County
Description: C.E.F.S. Senior Services is hiring a Meals on Wheels Site Supervisor. Hours would be Monday-Friday 8 AM-12:30 PM. Responsibilities include checking the quality, quantity, and temperature of food when delivered from the vendor for delivery to home-bound customers and for congregate meals to be served to seniors at the Meals on Wheels site, and coordinating nutrition site activities for seniors including packing home-delivered meals, recruiting, and training volunteers for home-delivered routes/packing of meals. Candidates must possess or be willing to obtain IL food service sanitation certification. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must meet pre-employment requirements.

RSVP Specialist
Location/s: Clay County
Description: This position is responsible for recruiting, enrolling, and placing volunteers 55 and older in volunteer opportunities within Clay County. The RSVP Specialist will also work with community members and non-profits to establish volunteer opportunities that meet the Retired Senior Volunteer Program guidelines. Candidates must be willing to meet with organizations and community leaders to establish volunteer opportunities, locate volunteers to fill positions, and complete weekly/monthly reports. Training and support will be provided, but the candidate must be self-driven, motivated to succeed, have good follow-through and a desire to build the program. Computer, Microsoft Office, and data entry skills needed. Associate degree preferred; however, experience in marketing, human services, and/or business will be considered in lieu of degree. A high school diploma or equivalent is required and a valid Illinois driver’s license.

C.E.F.S. Weatherization Program is hiring for the following position:
Housing Weatherization Assessor/Final Inspector
Location/s: Open to all service areas
Description: Full-time position with flexible 10-hour workdays and issuance of an agency vehicle. Responsibilities include performing initial home weatherization assessments and quality control final inspections, identifying and coordinating work orders and repairs, entering and tracking assessments and work from initiation to completion, etc. Paid training is provided to obtain the required certifications for the position. Associate degree in applied engineering, construction trades, or related field is preferred although experience which has led to the requisite skills and knowledge needed to perform required duties may be considered in place of a degree; a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Must meet pre-employment requirements.

Teacher Assistant
Location/s: Shelbyville center
Description: School year position, 40-hrs./wk. M-F. Associate's degree in early childhood education or related coursework equivalent to a major in early childhood education and one year of experience teaching preschool-age children preferred; must possess or be willing to obtain a preschool (3-5) CDA credential with a high school diploma or equivalent required. Must be at least 19.

Description: School year position. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must have a CDL school bus license or be able to obtain a school bus eligibility receipt from the Secretary of State driver's license facility by which to obtain a CDL school bus license. Must be at least 21.

Home-Based Education Specialist
Location/s: Effingham
Description: Full-year position, 40-hrs./wk. M-F. Office location in Effingham Central Office. Bachelor's degree in early childhood education with experience working with infants, toddlers, and/or preschoolers. Must obtain and maintain Parents as Teachers (PAT) certification. Experience working with disadvantaged individuals and/or families and the ability to work with individuals in a non-judgmental manner are needed.

Health Specialist
Location/s: Effingham
Description: Full-year position, 40-hrs./wk. M-F. Office location in Effingham Central Office. Bachelor’s degree required preferably in the field of pediatric health, nursing, health education, public health, or health administration. Responsibilities include planning, developing, and implementing operational procedures in the health component for Early Head Start (pregnant women, infants, and toddlers) and Head Start enrollees, developing partnerships and interagency agreements with health providers, and locating and accessing health and dental service resources for families.

Description: Shelby/Moultrie County area and Christian County. Full-time, full-year position, 40-hrs./wk. M-F. Providing services to Shelby County and Moultrie County area. Minimum of a home-based CDA credential or comparable credential, or equivalent coursework as part of an associate’s or bachelor’s degree (120 clock hours with at least 10 clock hours in each of the 8 CDA component areas) and 480 hours experience working with children age 0-3 years old and obtain a home visitor CDA within 3 months of hire.

Description: C.E.F.S. Central Illinois Public Transit is looking for Full-time, Part-time, and Substitute Drivers. No experience needed will train. Benefits for full-time drivers include health, dental, vision, personal time, vacation time, sick time, paid holidays, a 403(b) annuity, and a $1000 sign-on bonus. Not interested in full-time, being a substitute might be right for you! Choose the assignments you wish to accept; all we ask is that you be willing to work at minimum 3 days per month. Description: Maintenance Technician needed for Central Illinois Public Transit at our maintenance facility in Shelbyville, Illinois. The primary function of this position is to maintain, repair, and service a variety of public transit vehicles and related equipment. Current Valid Class D license. An associate degree in automotive technology, vocational education, or a related field is preferred although experience which has led to the requisite skills and knowledge needed to perform the above may be considered in place of a degree. Candidates must have a High School diploma or equivalent and a valid Class D license. CDL will be required within the first year of hire, agency-provided training.
