C.E.F.S. Outreach Program is hiring for the following position:
​Outreach and Literacy Resource Specialist​
Location/s: Effingham, IL
Description: The Outreach and Literacy Resource Specialist will assist the Outreach Office and Learning Center in providing services. As part of the Outreach and Literacy team, the Resource Specialist will assist with document collection, waiting room activities, scheduling, and office maintenance. The Resource Specialist will answer phones, greet customers, provide information and referrals, assist with benefit enrollment and VITA Tax Program, assist in preparing learner materials, assist in monitoring learners in the Learning Center, and enter data into both physical files and electronic databases. Qualifications include competency in computer software, good communication skills, and a positive attitude. High school degree or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred. Hourly wage: $15.53.

C.E.F.S. Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program is hiring for the following position:

Description: We are looking for a pleasant, detail-oriented person to fill a position in our Clay County Outreach Office in Flora as LIHEAP Intake & Referral Specialist. The hours are 8:30-4:30, Monday through Friday seasonally, October through May. Additional working dates could extend past May depending on funding and program needs. C.E.F.S. Meals on Wheels is hiring for the following positions:
Senior Services Specialist​​
Location/s: Clay County, IL
Description: The Senior Services Specialist will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Meals on Wheels and the Retired Senior Volunteer Programs in Clay County. This position is responsible for coordinating nutrition site activities and home delivered meals for the Meals on Wheels Program including recruiting and obtaining volunteers. The Senior Services Specialist will also work with community members and non-profits to establish volunteer opportunities within Clay County that meet the Retired Senior Volunteer Program guidelines. Candidates must be willing to meet with organizations and community leaders to establish volunteer opportunities, locate volunteers to fill positions, and complete weekly/monthly reports. Associates degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required and a valid driver’s license. Computer, Microsoft Office, and data entry skills are needed. Meals on Wheels Manager​​
Location/s: Effingham, IL
Description: C.E.F.S. is looking for a self-driven leader with strong communication skills to fill a key management position in its Meals on Wheels senior nutrition program. We are seeking someone who truly cares about improving the quality of life of seniors and who can manage the day-to-day program activities including oversight of senior meal sites and coordination of home-delivered meals to home-bound seniors. Excellent communications skills are needed for community relations, advocacy, recruitment of volunteers, and program fundraising. Bachelor's degree in nutrition, gerontology, social services, or related field preferred; Associate degree required with related field experience working with age 60+ population. Computer and Microsoft Office skills needed. Current Illinois food sanitation certification required or must be willing to obtain; valid driver’s license required. This position requires travel to monitor and provide support to Meals on Wheels Program sites within the C.E.F.S. service area in addition to travel for applicable training, speaking, and promotional events. Must understand and believe in the mission of Community Action and C.E.F.S. This position is a full-time, full-year position, 40-hrs./wk. M-F with the base of operations in Effingham, IL. Duties include food prep, cooking, packaging meals for home delivery, checking quality, quantity, and temperature of food, and delivering meals to Meals on Wheels sites in Montgomery County. Candidates must have a High School diploma or GED and be willing to obtain the required food safety/handling certification(s) for the position. Hourly Wage: $15.50.

Description: C.E.F.S. Economic Opportunity Corporation is hiring a full-time Receptionist/Administrative Secretary for the Effingham central office location. Responsibilities include performing front desk reception duties and telephone system operation while providing assistance through a variety of clerical duties to support the agency administration and the Head Start 0-5 Program. A high school diploma or equivalent with relevant office work experience required. Good customer service skills are necessary. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office 365 software programs, including Adobe Acrobat Pro. Hourly wage: $16.01.

Location/s: Montgomery County, IL
Description: C.E.F.S. is seeking an Outreach Coordinator in Montgomery County. Responsibilities include local office oversight and the implementation and management of C.E.F.S. programs within the county, including homeless and housing assistance, emergency food and shelter, budget and housing counseling, tax filing, utility assistance, and senior health insurance counseling. This position will also link programs that the agency operates with other existing county programs and services to ensure clients receive the most comprehensive assistance available. Bachelor’s degree preferred; associate degree required. Must be able to relate and communicate with the target population and community leaders. The base of operations is in Taylor Springs, IL. Outreach Housing Counselor
Location/s: Montgomery County, IL
Description: C.E.F.S. is seeking an Outreach Housing Counselor in Montgomery County. Duties include recruitment, intake, eligibility determination, assessment, counseling, casework, and the development of goals and perspectives to create stability and/or self-sufficiency for families and individuals served through the Outreach Housing Programs. This position assists in liaison work with all persons, parties, and entities, both public and private, as assigned. Duties will require local travel, training in rental and homeownership services, and home visits/inspections. The Housing Counselor also assists with food pantry duties located on-site. This position will require HUD Certification within 6 months of hire. Associate degree and/or experience in social services preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is required. The base of operations is at the Montgomery County Outreach office in Taylor Springs, IL. Hourly wage: $17.03.

Operations Manager
Location/s: Effingham, IL
Description: Central Illinois Public Transit of C.E.F.S. is seeking a detail-oriented candidate with supervisory experience to serve as Operations Manager. This position will be accountable for ensuring that the daily operations of CIPT are running efficiently, improving organizational processes and workflow, and ensuring the quality of transportation data. Responsibilities will include record keeping, quality review, staff supervision and development, developing and monitoring route scheduling to optimize efficiency, knowledge of all federal, state and local transit rules and regulations, C.E.F.S. and CIPT policies, and understanding of ITS software. The position will operate under the direction of the CIPT program director but must have the ability to work without direct supervision and promote a culture that encourages top performance and high morale. Full-time position Monday through Friday and includes an on-call rotation with a base of operations in Effingham with regular travel throughout the seven-county service area. Bachelor’s degree preferred in operations management, human resources, business or related field or experience which has led to the requisite skills and knowledge needed to perform job duties may be considered. High School diploma or equivalent required. Experience in operations or logistics a plus with a minimum of two years’ supervisory experience required. Knowledge of Excel, Word and similar software applications is required. Hourly wage: $22.98.​​

Description: C.E.F.S. Central Illinois Public Transit/Effingham Public Transportation is hiring a full-time Dispatcher/Driver with a base of operations in Effingham. Dispatch responsibilities include scheduling transportation requests, coordination/monitoring of daily routes, management of contract routes, vehicle and driver assignments, maintaining communications with driver and operations, validation of daily trip sheets, and ensuring accuracy of records. Driver responsibilities include serving the public transportation needs with care to ensure the safety of the customers and vehicles, and providing exceptional customer service. Preferred candidates should possess strong computer skills, customer service aptitude, numerical and analytical skills, ability to think creatively, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
