Housing Weatherization Assessor/Final Inspector - Full-time position with flexible work days. Responsibilities include performing weatherization assessments of client’s homes and making eligibility determinations, applying energy conservation and furnace technical measures by maintaining and overseeing the maintenance of accurate and comprehensive program activities, and completing final inspections of contractor work completed on client’s homes. The ability to effectively coordinate support to contractors, vendors, and clients is necessary. Associate degree in applied engineering, construction trades or related field is preferred although experience which has led to the requisite skills and knowledge needed to perform the above duties may be considered in
place of a degree; high school diploma or equivalent is required. Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to obtain Building Performance Institute QCI certification, OHSA 30-hr. training certification, and OHSA Confined Space Training within timeframes given upon employment.

Career Planner (Mattoon and Olney offices) - The C.E.F.S. Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Program (WIOA) is currently hiring for the position of a Full-time Career Planner for the Mattoon, IL and Olney, IL offices. This position is responsible for implementing the Adult, Youth, Dislocated Workers, and TAA programs which includes eligibility, assessment, career counseling, and caseload management. Computer, Microsoft Office, and Data Entry skills needed. Associates Degree preferred or experience which has led to the requisite skills and knowledge needed to perform job duties may be considered.

Accounting Specialist - Full time Workforce Accounting Specialist position is available in Effingham office. Hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Responsibilities include financial processes for the Adult, Youth, Dislocated Workers, and TAA programs for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). The Accounting Specialist is responsible for the fiscal operations of the program, including receiving and disbursing funds, bookkeeping and reporting functions, and purchasing. Associates Degree in Accounting is required. 2 years of experience in the field of  bookkeeping, clerical, data processing, information systems or related field is preferred. Must meet pre-employment requirements.

C.E.F.S. Head Start Program is hiring for the following positions: 

Teachers –  Sullivan and Taylorville centers. School year position, 40-hrs./wk. M-F. Bachelor degree in early childhood education or related coursework equivalent to a major in early childhood education and one year experience teaching preschool children preferred; Associates degree in early childhood education required. Must be at least 21.

Classroom Aides Effingham and Pana centers. School year positions, 40-hrs./wk. M-F. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be at least 18. Experience working with preschool age children preferred.

Bus Driver – Effingham and Litchfield centers. School year positions, 40-hrs./wk. M–F. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must have a CDL school bus license or able to obtain a school bus eligibility receipt from the Secretary of State driver license facility by which to obtain a CDL school bus license. Bus Monitor – Effingham and Litchfield centers. School year positions, 40 hrs./wk. M-F. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be at least 18.

Parent Educators (Christian County, Effingham County, Shelby/Moultrie County)Christian County area, Effingham County area, and/or Shelby/Moultrie County area. Full-time, full year positions, 40-hrs./wk. M-F. Minimum of a home-based CDA credential or comparable credential, or equivalent coursework as part of an associate’s or bachelor’s degree (120 clock hours with at least 10 clock hours in each of the 8 CDA component areas) and 480 hours experience working with children age 0-3 years old and obtain a home visitor CDA within 3 months of hire.

Family Advocate -  Christian County. Full-time, full year position, 40-hrs./wk. M-F. Associates degree in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required with at least three (3) years’ experience working with children and families.

Lunch Aide -  Effingham center. School year position, 16 hrs./wk. M-Th at the Head Start center in Louisville, IL. High school diploma or equivalent required.

Data Entry/File Clerk - Effingham central office. Full time, full year position, 40-hrs./wk. M-F. Associate degree in computer science, secretarial systems, management or related field preferred, experience may be substituted for degree; high school diploma or equivalent required.

Substitute Bus Drivers - School year positions. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must have a CDL school bus license or able to obtain a school bus eligibility receipt from the Secretary of State driver license facility by which to obtain a CDL school bus license. Must be at least 21.

C.E.F.S. Outreach is hiring for the following positions: 

Housing Counselor (Fayette County) - C.E.F.S. Fayette County Housing Counselor position available. This position is located in the Fayette County Outreach Office in Vandalia. Duties may include recruitment, intake, eligibility determination, assessment, counseling, casework, and the development of individual’s goals and perspectives in becoming self-sufficient. The Counselor also assists in liaison work for the program with all persons, parties and entities, both public and private as assigned. Duties will require travel, training in homeownership services, and home visits/inspections. The Housing Counselor also assists in the food pantry. This position will require HUD Certification within 6 months of hire. Associates degree and/or experience in social services preferred, high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Outreach Resource Specialist (Clay County) - C.E.F.S. Outreach Resource Specialist position available in Clay County. As part of the Outreach team, the resource specialist will assist with waiting room activities, including answering phones and greeting customers, scheduling, and office maintenance. This position may work directly with customers, under the guidance of other Outreach staff in defined areas including information and referrals, benefit enrollment and assistance with the tax program.
Associate degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required.

Medical Transportation Coordinator - Central Illinois Public Transit of C.E.F.S. is looking for a Full Time Medical Transportation Coordinator, base of operations in Effingham, IL. This position will serve as an advocate between riders, medical facilities, and managed care organizations, assisting the rider in meeting his medical transportation needs. Responsibilities include using ITS scheduling software, accurately recording client information, manage the billing process and payment issues with contracted managed care organizations. Benefits for full time employees includes health, dental, vision, personal time, vacation time, sick time, paid holidays and 403(b) annuity and a $1000 sign on bonus. Position is Monday through Friday 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Benefits include a generous paid time off package, paid holidays, 403(b) annuity program, and health insurance. Hours will typically vary Monday-Friday between 5:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. Candidates must have a High School diploma or equivalent and a valid Class D license. CDL will be required within ninety days of hire, agency provided training. Not interested in full time, being a substitute might be right for you! Chose the assignments you wish to accept; all we ask is that you be willing to work at minimum 3 days per month. Mechanic (Shelby County) - Mechanic needed for Central Illinois Public Transit at our maintenance facility in Shelbyville, Illinois.  Primary function of this position is to maintain, repair, and service a variety of public transit vehicles and related equipment.  Associates degree in Automotive Technology, Vocational Education, or related field preferred although experience which has led to the requisite skills and knowledge needed to perform the above may be considered in place of degree.
