C.E.F.S. Weatherization Program is hiring for the following position: 

​Housing Weatherization Assessor/Final Inspector​

Location/s: Effingham, IL

Description: C.E.F.S. Economic Opportunity Corporation is hiring a full-time Housing Weatherization Assessor/Final Inspector. Responsibilities include performing initial home weatherization assessments and quality control final inspections, identifying and coordinating work orders and repairs, entering and tracking assessments and work from initiation to completion, etc. Flexible 10-hour workdays and issuance of an agency vehicle with paid training provided to obtain required certifications for position. Associate degree in applied engineering, construction trades or related field is preferred although 
experience which has led to the requisite skills and knowledge needed to perform required duties may be considered in place of a degree; high school diploma or equivalent required. Must meet pre-employment requirements. Starting hourly wage: $24.00.

C.E.F.S. Outreach Program is hiring for the following positions: 

Outreach County Coordinator

Location/s: Montgomery County, IL (Taylor Springs, IL)

Description: In this position, you will oversee the local CEFS outreach office in Montgomery County and coordinate a wide range of programs designed to support community members in need.  These services include homeless and housing assistance, emergency food and shelter programs, budget and housing counseling, tax filing assistance, utility assistance, and senior health insurance counseling. An important part of your role will be collaborating with county agencies and community partners to link CEFS programs with existing services, ensuring clients receive the most comprehensive support possible. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, a genuine ability to relate to diverse populations, and comfort working with community leaders and partner organizations. An associate degree is required, with a bachelor’s degree preferred. Applicants must also meet all pre-employment requirements. This full-time position offers an hourly wage of $20.41.

Location/s: Vandalia, IL

Description: Duties include recruitment, intake, eligibility determination, assessment, counseling, casework, and the development of goals and perspectives to create stability and/or self-sufficiency for families and individuals served through the Outreach Housing Programs, and also assists with food pantry duties located on site. This position will require local travel, training in rental and homeownership services, and home visits/inspections. HUD Certification is required within 6 months of hire. Associate degree and/or experience in social services preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Hourly wage: $17.53

Description: C.E.F.S. Economic Opportunity Corporation is hiring a full-time Senior Services Program Specialist for the Effingham central office location. Responsibilities include preparing payment vouchers, reviewing supply requests and placing supply and material orders, maintaining inventory of supplies, entering program data, and maintaining spreadsheets/databases while providing assistance through a variety of clerical and substitute duties to support the Senior Services Program. Associate degree in administrative, secretarial systems, or information technology preferred; high school diploma or equivalent with relevant office work experience required. Good customer service skills are necessary. Hourly wage: $16.51.

​Senior Services Specialist​

Location/s: Effingham, IL

Description: CEFS Economic Opportunity Corporation is seeking a compassionate, organized, and community-minded professional to join our Senior Services Program as a Senior Services Specialist in Effingham County. This is a full-time, day-shift position (Monday–Friday) with a base of operations in Effingham, IL. As a Senior Services Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting older adults and strengthening community connections by overseeing two essential programs: Meals on Wheels Program and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). Duties include: coordinating daily operations for nutrition sites and home-delivered meals, recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers, ensuring smooth delivery of services to seniors throughout Effingham County, building and maintaining partnerships with community organizations and nonprofits, developing volunteer opportunities that meet program guidelines, matching volunteers with meaningful service roles, and completing required weekly and monthly reports. This role involves regular collaboration with community leaders, agencies, and volunteers to ensure seniors receive essential services and opportunities to stay engaged. Associate degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and data entry. Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills. Ability to work independently while building positive community relationships. Hourly wage: $16.51. â€‹

Meals on Wheels Site Supervisor (Part-Time)​

Location/s: Teutopolis, IL

Description: The CEFS Meals on Wheels Program is currently seeking a part-time site supervisor in Teutopolis. This position is responsible for operating the Meals on Wheels congregate site and packaging meals for the home-delivered meals program. Duties include managing portion control, temperature, and time control for food, maintaining cleanliness of the dining area and food preparation site, coordinating site activities, recruiting, managing, and scheduling volunteers to assist in home food delivery, and maintaining daily paperwork, donation deposits, and participant records. Hours 20-25 per week. Hourly wage: $16.00

Public Transit Dispatcher/Driver​​

Location/s: Effingham, IL

Description: We’re hiring a full-time Dispatcher/Driver (Monday - Friday) to help keep our community connected—and we’d love for you to be part of our mission. This is a dynamic role where no two days are the same. As a dispatcher, you’ll be the hub of daily operations—coordinating rides, supporting drivers, keeping routes on track, and making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. As a driver, you’ll be the friendly, dependable face our riders rely on—safely transporting passengers and delivering exceptional customer service with care and respect. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with people, stays organized under pressure, and takes pride in doing meaningful work. Strong customer service and computer skills are important. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and you must be willing to obtain a CDL with passenger endorsement—we’ll support you along the way.  The position is located in Effingham, IL. Hourly wage: $18.53

 

Public Transit Drivers (Full-Time, Part-Time, and Substitutes)​​

Location/s: Effingham, Fayette, and Shelby counties

Description: No experience needed, will train. Benefits for full-time drivers include health, dental, vision, vacation, flex, and sick time, life insurance, paid holidays, and 403(b) tax-deferred annuity plan. (Not interested in being a full-time driver, substitute drivers will be considered. Choose the assignments you wish to accept; all we ask is that you are willing to work a minimum of 3 days per month.) Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid Class D license. Must be willing to obtain CDL during employment with agency-provided training and support. Hourly wage: $17.53​
