C.E.F.S. Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is hiring for the following positions:
Housing Counselor (Christian County) - C.E.F.S. Christian County Housing Counselor position available. This position is located in the Christian County Outreach Office in Taylorville. Duties may include recruitment, intake, eligibility determination, assessment, counseling, casework, and the development of an individual’s goals and perspectives in becoming self-sufficient. The Counselor also assists in liaison work for the program with all persons, parties, and entities, both public and private as assigned. Duties will require travel, training in homeownership services, and home visits/inspections. This position will require HUD Certification within 6 months of hire. Associates degree and/or experience in social services preferred, high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Accounting Specialist - The Accounting Specialist is responsible for ensuring the Fiscal Department creates accurate and timely financial records for the organization. Candidate must be able to assist in all accounting/bookkeeping duties including maintaining and reconciling a complex general ledger with numerous funding sources, as well as all aspects of payroll and payroll reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivables, and analyzing statements that compare budgets to actual. Computer competency in Microsoft Office programs, accounting, spreadsheet analysis, and word processing. Must be highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Must understand and believe in the mission of Community Action and CEFS. Requires Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field OR Associate Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or related field, and at least three years of relevant accounting experience. This position requires 40 hours each week with the majority of work being completed between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Travel to conferences and training may be necessary several times each year.
Accounting Clerk - The Accounting Clerk is responsible for maintaining financial records, depositing daily / weekly cash receipts, ordering and maintaining department supplies, preparing department invoices for payment, and providing accounting and operational assistance for all other functions of the department. Computer competency in Microsoft Office programs, accounting, spreadsheet analysis, and word processing. Must be highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Requires Associate Degree, or High School diploma and two years of business office experience. This position may be filled as either part-time (20 hours per week) or full-time based on candidate preference.

C.E.F.S. Meals on Wheels is hiring for the following position:
Meals on Wheels Manager - Are you seeking a rewarding position that makes a real impact on people’s lives? C.E.F.S. is looking for a self-driven leader with strong communication skills to fill a key management position in its Meals on Wheels senior nutrition program. We are seeking someone who truly cares about improving the quality of life of seniors and who can manage the day-to-day program activities including oversight of senior meal sites and coordination of home-delivered meals to home-bound seniors. Excellent communications skills are needed for community relations, advocacy, recruitment of volunteers, and program fundraising. Bachelor's degree in nutrition, gerontology, social services, or related field preferred; Associate degree required with related field experience working with age 60+ population. Computer and Microsoft Office skills needed. Current Illinois food sanitation certification required or must be willing to obtain; valid driver’s license required. This position requires travel to monitor and provide support to Meals on Wheels Program sites within the C.E.F.S. service area in addition to travel for applicable training, speaking, and promotional events. Meals on Wheels Site Supervisor (Dieterich) - C.E.F.S. Meals on Wheels is hiring a Site Supervisor for the Dieterich Center. Candidates must have a High School diploma or GED. C.E.F.S. Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is hiring for the following positions:
RSVP Program Specialists (Fayette County and Christian County) - The C.E.F.S. AmeriCorps Seniors Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is currently hiring for the positions of Full-time RSVP Specialists for Fayette County and Christian County. The Program Specialist position is responsible for recruiting, enrolling, and placing volunteers 55 and older in volunteer opportunities within Fayette County. The Program Specialist will also work with community members and non-profits to establish volunteer opportunities that meet the Retired Senior Volunteer Program guidelines. Candidates must be willing to meet with organizations and community leaders to establish volunteer opportunities, locate volunteers to fill positions, and complete weekly/monthly reports. Training and support will be provided but candidate must be self-driven, motivated to succeed, have good follow-through and a desire to build the program. Computer, Microsoft Office, and data entry skills needed. Associate's degree preferred; however, experience in marketing, human services, and/or business will be considered in lieu of degree. High school diploma or equivalent required and a valid Illinois driver’s license.

Classroom Aides – Effingham, Pana, Taylorville, and Litchfield centers. School year positions, 40-hrs./wk. M-F. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be at least 18. Experience working with preschool- age children preferred.
Bus Driver – Effingham, Altamont, and Sullivan centers. School year positions, 40-hrs./wk. M–F. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must have a CDL school bus license or able to obtain a school bus eligibility receipt from the Secretary of State driver license facility by which to obtain a CDL school bus license. Must be at least 21.
Bus Monitor – Effingham and Pana centers. School year positions, 40 hrs./wk. M-F. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be at least 18.
Parent Educators (Effingham County, Shelby/Moultrie County) - Effingham County area and/or Shelby/Moultrie County area. Full-time, full-year positions, 40-hrs./wk. M-F. Minimum of a home-based CDA credential or comparable credential, or equivalent coursework as part of an associate’s or bachelor’s degree (120 clock hours with at least 10 clock hours in each of the 8 CDA component areas) and 480 hours experience working with children age 0-3 years old and obtain a home visitor CDA within 3 months of hire.
Substitute Bus Drivers - School year positions. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must have a CDL school bus license or able to obtain a school bus eligibility receipt from the Secretary of State driver license facility by which to obtain a CDL school bus license. Must be at least 21.

Public Transit Drivers (Christian, Montgomery, Fayette, and Effingham counties) - C.E.F.S. Central Illinois Public Transit is looking for Full-time, Part-time, and Substitute Drivers in Christian, Montgomery, Fayette, and Effingham counties. No experience needed, will train. Automotive Mechanic (Shelby County) - Automotive Mechanic needed for Central Illinois Public Transit at the maintenance facility in Shelbyville, IL. The primary function of this position is to provide basic repairs, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance to a variety of public transit vehicles and related equipment. Candidates, at minimum, should possess experience which has led to the requisite skills and knowledge needed to perform the above-mentioned duties. An associate degree in automotive technology, vocational education, or related field is preferred. Candidates must have a High School diploma or equivalent and a valid Class D license.
