Full-time Career Planner - Full-time Career Planner in the Olney office. Potential candidates must have good communication skills, experience working with computers, and the ability to relate to and motivate others. Job duties include eligibility determination, assessment, career counseling, and caseload management for the Adult, Dislocated Worker, Youth, and TAA programs. Associates Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Business, Social Work, or related field is preferred although experience which has led to the requisite skills and knowledge needed to perform job duties may be considered in place of a degree. High School diploma required.

Workforce Eligibility Specialist - Full-time Workforce Eligibility Specialist position in the Effingham office. Responsibilities include determining eligibility for customers, planning, reporting, and participant recordkeeping for the adult, youth, dislocated worker and TAA programs.  Computer, Microsoft Office and Data Entry skills needed.  Associates Degree in human services or related field is required.  Bachelor’s degree preferred. 2 years of experience in human services field preferred.

C.E.F.S. Head Start Program is hiring for the following positions: 

Head Start Teacher - Sullivan Center. School year position, 40-hrs./wk. M-F. Bachelor degree in early childhood education or related coursework equivalent to a major in early childhood education and one year experience teaching preschool children preferred; Associates degree in early childhood education required. Must be at least 21.

Teacher Assistant – Taylorville II center. School year position, 40-hours/wk, M-F. Associates degree in early childhood education or related coursework equivalent to a major in early childhood education and one year experience teaching preschool age children preferred; must possess or willing to obtain a preschool (3-5) CDA credential with high school diploma or equivalent require. Must be at least 19.

Classroom Aides – Vandalia, Litchfield, Effingham, Altamont, Pana, Sullivan, and Shelbyville centers. School year position, full or part-time, Monday-Friday. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be at least 18. Experience working with preschool age preferred.

Parent Educators (Clay County, Shelby/Moultrie County, Christian County) - Full-time, full year positions, 40-hrs./wk. M-F. Associates degree in early childhood education or an associates degree in a related field with 120 clock hours of early childhood education and principles of adult learning covering the growth and development of children birth to age five required. The Clay County Parent Educator is based out of our Head Start center in Louisville. The Shelby/Moultrie County Parent Educator will be based out of our Head Start center in Shelbyville. The Christian County Parent Educator will be based out of our Head Start center in Taylorville.

Family Advocate – Taylorville/Pana. Full-time, full year position, 40 hrs./wk. M-F. Associates degree in social work, human services, family services, counseling, or a related field preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required with at least three (3) years’ experience working with children and families.

Substitute Bus Drivers - School year positions. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must have a CDL school bus license or able to obtain a school bus eligibility receipt from the Secretary of State driver license facility by which to obtain a CDL school bus license. Must be at least 21.

Substitute Bus Monitors – School year position, 40-hours/wk, M-F. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be at least 18.

C.E.F.S. Outreach is hiring for the following position: 

Housing Counselor (Moultrie County) -  C.E.F.S. Moultrie County Housing Counselor position available. Duties may include recruitment, intake, eligibility determination, assessment, counseling, casework, and the development of client goals and perspectives in becoming self-sufficient. The Counselor also assists in liaison work for the program with all persons, parties and entities, both public and private as assigned. Duties will require travel, training in homeownership services and require home visits/inspections. Associate’s required, Bachelor’s preferred.

Homeless Intensive Case Manager (Christian County) -  C.E.F.S. Outreach Department has an opening for a Homeless Intensive Case Manager. This position will serve a key role in the success of our HUD Rapid Re-Housing Program, a program designed to assist homeless individuals and families. Job duties will include intensive case management including budgeting, goal setting, life skills, and developing program exit plans; home visits; home inspections; and interactions with Landlords. This person will also be required to document all interaction with program participants and case management activities into a specified software program in a timely manner. Location of home office will be based in Christian County Outreach Office. This position will travel throughout Christian County to provide services to all HUD Rapid Re-Housing participants. An agency vehicle will be provided for this travel. Bachelor’s in Social Work, Sociology, or related field is preferred. Associate degree in a human services related field is required. This position will require HUD Certification within 18 months of hire.

Energy Program Verifier/Intake - Are you looking for a challenging, fast paced, detail-oriented job with no nights or weekends? We are looking for a seasonal Energy Program Verifier/Intake for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). The position is in the C.E.F.S. Administration Office in Effingham. Responsibilities include assisting with implementation of all aspects of the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program. The job requires computer skills, strong organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, and professional demeanor. Ability to use MS Excel required. Hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Must meet pre-employment requirements. Associate Degree preferred, High School diploma or GED required.

Intake (Montgomery County) - Are you looking for a challenging, fast paced, detail-oriented job with no nights or weekends? Do you like helping people? We are looking for a pleasant, detailed oriented person to fill a seasonal position in our Montgomery Outreach Office in Taylor Springs, with possibility of some travel to an outreach site in Litchfield. The hours are 8:30-4:30, Monday through Friday. Flexible work schedule possible. The candidate will work one-on-one with customers assisting them in applying for utility assistance. This job requires people and computer skills. Must meet pre-employment requirements. High School diploma or GED required.

Central Illinois Public Transit (CIPT) is hiring for the following positions: 

Operations Manager - Central Illinois Public Transit of C.E.F.S. is looking for a detail-oriented candidate with supervisory experience to serve as Operations Manager.  This position will be accountable for ensuring that the daily operations of CIPT are run efficiently, improving organizational processes and workflow and ensuring quality of transportation data. Responsibilities will include record keeping, quality review, staff supervision and development, monitoring route scheduling and development to optimize efficiency. Operations Manager will have knowledge of all Federal, State and Local transit rules and regulations, C.E.F.S. and CIPT policies and complete understanding of ITS software. The position will operate under the direction of the Program Director but must have the ability to work without direct supervision and promote a culture that encourages top performance and high morale. Position is full time, Monday through Friday and includes an on-call rotation. Base location is Effingham, IL.  Benefits include a generous paid time off package including vacation, sick and personal time, paid holidays, 403(b) annuity program, group life insurance and group health insurance including dental and vision. Dispatcher (Effingham County) - Central Illinois Public Transit of C.E.F.S. is seeking a full-time dispatcher with base of operations in Effingham. The position will execute daily routing and scheduling functions of the program along with performance of administrative duties of a seven-county public transportation system. Hours are Monday through Friday with standard shift of 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with variable shifts between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. as needed. Preferred candidates should possess strong computer skills, numerical and analytical skills, ability to think creatively, logical reasoning and problem-solving skills. High school diploma or equivalent is required; associate degree preferred.

Mechanic (Shelby County) - Mechanic needed for Central Illinois Public Transit at our maintenance facility in Shelbyville, Illinois.  Primary function of this position is to maintain, repair, and service a variety of public transit vehicles and related equipment.  Associates degree in Automotive Technology, Vocational Education, or related field preferred although experience which has led to the requisite skills and knowledge needed to perform the above may be considered in place of degree. RSVP Program Specialist (Christian County) -  AmeriCorps Seniors - RSVP is currently hiring for the position of a Full-Time RSVP Program Specialist for Christian County. The Program Specialist position is responsible for recruiting, enrolling and supporting volunteers 55 and older in their respective county. The Program Specialist will also work with community members to establish volunteer opportunities (“Work Stations”) that meet the Retired Senior Volunteer Program guidelines. This is a new program in Christian County. Candidate must be able to meet with organizations to establish volunteer opportunities, locate volunteers to fill positions, and complete weekly reports. Training and support will be provided but candidate must be self- driven, motivated to succeed, have good follow-through and willingness to attend community events to recruit both volunteers and volunteer opportunities. Computer, Microsoft Office and data entry skills needed. Associates degree preferred; experience in marketing, human services, business will be considered in lieu of degree. Candidates must have a High School diploma or equivalent, a valid Illinois driver’s license and meet pre-employment requirements.
